Early Release Program
Summary
We need volunteers to test new versions of our tools. We do internal tests first, and then release to participants of the early release program, and finally tools are approved for customer use.
We make it worth your while.
What You get
Participants of the early release program get free licenses. There’s conditions of course, but we want it to be worth your (participants) time and effort.
What Our Customer Get
Our customers are using tools to assist with compliance. That requires the software used to be of the highest quality. We achieve this by testing our tools in development, internally by multiple staff, and finally by participants of the early release program. Customers can rest assured that tools have been thoroughly tested before they get it. But even then, we encourage customers to use our tools in a test environment first, before moving to production. The key reason for this final stage is to ensure the customer understands the impact of using our compliance tools. After all, compliance tools make changes to systems which result in different behaviour – as advertised.
The diagram illustrates the phases of testing:
Warning Warning Warning
Our early release program participants are required to do the following to ensure responsible testing:
- Test each new version of our tools. We provide participants with new versions of our tools so that they can identify issues before the bulk of customers use the tools in a production environment. The testing process is provided to participants for each release.
- Test in a “test” environment only. It is vital that participants of the program only use and test the tools in a test environment, and NOT in a production or similar environment.
- Report results to AGIX Linux. We require errors and issues to be reported to AGIX Linux without public disclosure.
- Testing comes with risk, and participants in the early release program must accept that risk prior to participating. This is why we insist that testing happens only in test environments. The risk is fully accepted by the participants, and no liability is accepted by AGIX Linux for issues resulting from testing and participating in the early release program.
