Error Messages Explained – Licensing & Registration

The following are error messages explained. When registering a Linux system with the license server, these are the messages you might receive back.


ERROR: Client ID unknown
The above: The license number that was used to register the Linux system is not known to the license server. In other words, you’re using the wrong client ID and you need to log into the Customer Portal and get the correct client ID.  The client ID is available at the bottom of the customer portal, once you’ve signed in.
ERROR: Hostname license already issued
The above: The Linux system that you’re trying to obtain a license file for has already been registered on the license server. You have two options, change the Hostname and Machine-ID of the Linux system, or download the license file from the customer portal and place it in the correct location. Sign into the customer portal, click the three dots next to the host of interest, click the View option. The contents of the license field should be placed in a file located at “/opt/cyber-compliance/etc/license.dat” on the Linux system.
ERROR: License expired
The above: The license for the given Linux system has expired and you should consider obtaining another. Visit the customer portal to manage your licenses.
ERROR: All licenses allocated
The above: All licenses associated with your account have been allocated the Linux systems. Either remove a license from one of your existing Linux systems which will free up one seat (which can be done from the customer portal), or purchase more licenses.
ERROR: Machine ID license already issued
The above: The Hostname and Machine-ID of the Linux system that you’re trying to register a license for has already been used. This is common when cloning Linux systems. Licenses are linked to the Hostname and the Machine-ID.
ERROR: Product ID unknown
The above: The product is unknown. This is an unlikely issue that suggests a very strange situation. Please consider contacting the support team at support@agixlinux.com for assistance.
ERROR: Client not licensed for product
The above: The product is unknown. This is an unlikely issue that suggests a very strange situation. Please consider contacting the support team at support@agixlinux.com for assistance.
ERROR: Licensing service failure. Try again or contact support
The above: This indicates that the process for registering the Linux server with the license server has failed. Consider troubleshooting your Internet connectivity to the license server. If you’re sure your systems are ok, consider contacting the support team at support@agixlinux.com for assistance.
ERROR: Submission validation failure
The above: This indicates that the process for registering the Linux server with the license server has failed. Consider troubleshooting your Internet connectivity to the license server. If you’re sure your systems are ok, consider contacting the support team at support@agixlinux.com for assistance.
